Product Overview
This breakout module incorporates the ACS712ELCTR-05B-T current sensor, which operates on Hall Effect principles, ensuring accurate current measurement for both AC and DC signals. The ACS712ELCTR-05B-T produces an analog voltage output that changes proportionally with the detected current. A 5VDC power source is necessary for the breakout board's operation. Utilizing a Hall effect sensor offers the benefit of electrical isolation between the sensed circuit and the circuit responsible for reading the sensor.
Please Note: Although the chip itself is rated for up to 2.1kV (RMS) of isolation, the board has not been designed for such high voltage applications.

The ACS712 5A Hall-Effect current sensor breakout with flap cover connector integrates the ACS712ELCTR-05B-T current sensor IC, which is a high-performance current sensor IC designed for accurate and reliable current sensing applications. The sensor breakout is capable of measuring up to 5 amps of current with an accuracy of +-1.5%, making it ideal for a wide range of applications, including motor control, power management, and energy monitoring. The sensor uses the Hall-Effect principle to generate a voltage across a conductor when a magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the current flow, which is then amplified by the ACS712ELCTR-05B-T IC. The IC also features a low-offset, low-drift, and high-bandwidth, ensuring accurate and stable measurements over time. The flap cover connector makes it easy to connect and disconnect the sensor from the circuit, and it also protects the sensor from dust and other environmental contaminants.
The ACS712 5A Hall-Effect current sensor breakout with flap cover connector integrated with the ACS712ELCTR-05B-T current sensor IC is a highly versatile and reliable sensor that is suitable for a wide range of current sensing applications.
