At the heart of the board is the SHT40, a high-accuracy digital temperature and humidity sensor known for its excellent long-term stability and low power consumption. Working alongside it is the SGP40, a dedicated VOC sensor designed to detect volatile organic compounds commonly generated by cleaning products, paints, furniture, cooking activities, and human occupancy. Together, these sensors provide a more complete picture of indoor environmental conditions than temperature or humidity measurements alone.

What makes this combination particularly useful is that the SGP40 uses real-time temperature and humidity data from the SHT40 for humidity compensation, helping deliver more reliable VOC measurements under changing environmental conditions.
