BME688 Environmental Sensor Breakout

The BME688 boasts all the functionalities of the BME680 while introducing an additional gas scanning feature.

This breakout module features the recently unveiled Bosch BME688 4-in-1 environmental sensor equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). Representing the next evolution in environmental sensing technology following the BME680, the BME688 is promoted for its advanced AI capabilities.

Within the BME688 breakout board, the BME688 by Bosch Sensortec takes center stage as the latest environmental sensor designed for measuring humidity, pressure, temperature, and indoor air quality. It comes with digital I2C and SPI interfaces. Setting itself apart, the BME688 stands as the pioneering gas sensor with integrated artificial intelligence (AI), featuring high-linearity and high-accuracy pressure, humidity, and temperature sensors. This compact sensor encompasses capabilities for temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and VOC gas detection, all accessible through SPI or I2C interfaces. Notably, the gas sensor excels in detecting Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs), as well as other gases like carbon monoxide and hydrogen within the part per billion (ppb) range. In its standard configuration, the detection of VSCs serves as an indicator for phenomena such as bacteria growth. Additionally, the gas scanning functionality can be tailored based on sensitivity, selectivity, data rate, and power consumption preferences.
