Protection features
Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO) & Input Overvoltage Protection (OVP)
The AP61200 series automatically shuts down if the input voltage falls below 1.84 V or rises above 6.3 V, protecting the IC from unsafe operating conditions. During shutdown, both internal MOSFETs turn OFF and the built-in 1 kΩ active discharge quickly discharges the output voltage to ground.
Overcurrent Protection (OCP)
The AP61200 series continuously monitors the output current and automatically limits excessive current to protect the device. During a prolonged overload or short circuit, it enters Hiccup Mode, periodically restarting until the fault is removed.
Thermal Shutdown (TSD)
The AP61200 series includes built-in thermal protection that automatically shuts down the converter if the junction temperature reaches approximately 160°C, preventing overheating and damage. Once the temperature drops to around 130°C, the device automatically restarts with a soft-start sequence.
Valley Current Limit (VCL)
Continuously monitors the inductor current and instantly limits excessive current during overload or short-circuit conditions, ensuring reliable operation and protecting both the converter and the connected load.
