7Semi SGP40 VOC Index Air Quality Sensor I2C Probe

The 7Semi SGP40 VOC Index Air Quality Sensor I²C Probe is a compact digital sensing solution designed for indoor air-quality and volatile organic compound (VOC) monitoring. Built around the Sensirion SGP40, it provides reliable VOC sensing with a processed VOC Index from 0 to 500, making changes in indoor air quality easy to monitor and interpret. The probe is well suited for air purifiers, HVAC systems, ventilation control, smart buildings, IoT devices, and environmental monitoring applications.

The probe communicates through an I²C interface with a fixed 0x59 address and includes an integrated heater for controlled gas-sensing operation. Its remote probe configuration enables convenient placement of the sensing element away from the host electronics.

The sensing assembly is enclosed in a ventilated plastic probe housing for ambient airflow. The outer housing provides mechanical protection against direct contact with the internal sensing assembly. The 1 m cable enables flexible installation for long-term indoor air-quality monitoring.
